Over the past twenty years Andrew Veivers has established himself as a musician, teacher, director and composer of the highest calibre - touring, recording, composing, and arranging extensively for solo projects, his groups Flamenco Fire and The Saruzu Quartet as well as for great Australian artistic institutions such as The Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Queensland and the Woodford Folk Festival.
What's happening in 2022/23
Well, well, well 2022/23 finds me almost back to pre-covid levels of busyness. Who would have thunk it!?! I’m very lucky to be in the favourable position of being able to continue to build on relationships with such fine artistic powerhouses as Arts Queensland, Sunshine Coast Council, events company Red Chair, the fine fellas at Yama-Nui Studio as well as the Brisbane, Horizon, Spark, Cygnet, Mulkadee and Woodford Festivals. All of whom have engaged me in a plethora of fine and, sometimes, fantastical(see: Chicken Man) flights of artistic fancy.
From the relaunch of the Sunshine Coast Guitar Orchestra to recording some of my newly penned songs at the ever lovely Yama-Nui studio with bassist Andrew Shaw and singers, Angela Iimura, Kacey Patrick and Karl S. Williams to producing/presenting freshly hatched(yep, that’s a Chicken Man reference right there!) community arts projects The Playlist and The Keeper to being a finalist in the 2022 Australian Art Music Awards for my work on People Puppets Fire, 2022/23 has seen the Australian arts community pushing on with energy and enthusiasm…..and I’m loving being a part of the action!!

Looking forward to seeing you out ’n about!!
